A: An Air Oil Separator plays a key role in the separation process. It ensures that only the air and no oil is delivered to the outlet. Hence it is important that the separator should be replaced from time to time.

A: By capturing oil vapors and preventing them from contaminating the intake system, an oil separator helps reduce engine deposits, extend engine life, and improve overall performance.

A: In general, every 2 PSIG increase in pressure drop will increase BHP (brake horsepower) use by 1%. Changing the air/oil separator every 4,000 hours, or annually, keeps oil carryover and lubricant consumption low.

A: All that excess oil in your engine, in a wild and uncalibrated way, means major build up over time in your intake systems - preventing air from flowing freely. All that oil can even dilute the octane of incoming fuel - and you're paying good money for that.

A: Oil separators are typically installed near the compressor discharge line in a refrigeration system. It is best practice to install them as close as possible to the compressor but higher than the condenser to prevent liquid refrigerant from migrating into the separator sheel during off cycles.
