A: ISO 100 reciprocating air compressor lubricants are also commonly referred to as Non Detergent SAE 30 Weight Oils. These oils protect from corrosion and rust and perform exceptionally well at continuous high temperatures in single and multistage reciprocating air compressors.

A: Lubricated and oil-flooded air compressors must have regular oil changes to stay in proper working condition. This should be done as part of your regular preventive maintenance (PM) service. Typically, mineral oils and blends must be changed every 4,000 operating hours. Synthetic oils may last up to twice as long.

A: The kind of compressor you have and how often you use it will affect how often you'll need to change your air compressor's oil. The machine's user manual will have specific information, but a general rule is to change the oil every 100 to 200 hours or every few months.

A: Motor oil is not the right choice for air compressors.
